MADE TO WALK the Walkcast – Rediscover walking, while walking.
Created and hosted by Raphaël Ettore. Produced by Couzin films
Made to Walk is a ‘walkcast’ about the forgotten crucial roles of walking and the recently discovered research on its far-reaching health, environmental, economic and social contributions to our species.
Made to Walk’s audience follows the discussions and exchanges between the host Raphaël Ettore as he travels virtually around the world and uncovers the recent science and unheard findings of this universal human trait. From guests in Sarajevo, to Brisbaine, to San Diego, Montreal, Portsmouth UK and others.
The topics explored in this podcast on the go, reaches beyond the general understanding of walking as a means to clear your head of thoughts or to burn extra calories or to help digest your last meal. Instead of making you feel guilty for not doing ten thousand steps each day, the subjects covered in this walkcast will make you appreciate and understand how each step you take is - on many other levels - fundamental to who you are.
The first series of 5 episodes explore the walking effects on creativity, what walking says about who we are, the role of walking in attracting potential mates, the sci-fi studies that use walking to predict major illnesses, the mystery surrounding the origins of walking, how walking defined modern competitive sports and how walking can redefine the future of our cities.
Picking up on the tracks of the Documentary feature film the Made to Walk ‘Walkcasts’ episodes, combine factual information on the science of walking coupled with untold and extraordinary real life contextual walking stories while providing technical walking techniques and self awareness observations in 30 to 45 mins clips for listeners to take in over the course of their daily walks.
Each episode is composed of a content ‘recipe’ that is applied throughout the series. Which creates a structure that the participants come to expect. The themes, information and stories vary from one episode to the other.
