    Lux Radio Theater presents “Home in Indiana,” originally broadcast October 2, 1944, as episode 451 of Lux Radio Theatre. This CBS presentation adapts the 1944 Twentieth Century-Fox film, itself based on George Agnew Chamberlain’s novel Phantom Filly.

    A young boy sent to live with relatives in rural Indiana finds a new sense of purpose amid the horse farm and harness-racing world. Walter Brennan, Charlotte Greenwood, Jeanne Crain, and June Haver reprise their film roles in this hopeful tale of family, rivalry, and the road to a major race.

    Lux Radio Theatre presents “She Wore a Yellow Ribbon,” originally broadcast on March 12, 1951, as episode 737. This CBS production was sponsored by Lux.

    John Wayne reprises his film role as veteran Cavalry Capt. Nathan Brittles, nearing retirement in 1876 after the Battle of the Little Bighorn. On a final assignment from a remote frontier post, Brittles leads a patrol while escorting the commanding officer’s wife and niece through a tense and uncertain West. Adapted from the 1949 John Ford film, itself based on stories by James Warner Bellah, the drama also features Mel Ferrer and Mala Powers.

    Set aboard the merchant brig Pilgrim on an 1834 voyage from Boston toward California, the drama follows Charles Stewart as he confronts the brutal realities of shipboard life under the harsh Captain Francis Thompson. Alan Ladd and Howard Da Silva reprise their film roles in this adaptation by Sanford Barnett, directed by Fred MacKaye.
