Duke Blue Devils dominate ACC preseason chatter as both men’s and women’s basketball are picked to win the conference—can Jon Scheyer’s squad justify near-unanimous expectations after back-to-back ACC titles and a staggering 70-7 record over two years? ACC Player of the Year favorite Thijs De Ridder headlines a deeper league, but all eyes are on Duke's loaded roster, including John Blackwell, Patrick Ngongba II, Dame Sarr, and electrifying freshman Jojo Boumtje Boumtje, the preseason Rookie of the Year.

Host JJ Jackson and guest Raul Clement react to Duke’s emphatic 102-62 exhibition win over Belmont, analyzing standout performances, seamless rotations, and key positional battles. The conversation spotlights Dame Sarr’s offensive leap, Blackwell’s “quiet” efficiency, and Ngongba’s game-changing presence. Can Duke maintain this depth and consistency when tested by Tennessee and top national contenders? Get insider perspectives on ACC power rankings, upcoming challenges, and the injury outlook for key Blue Devils.

Duke Blue Devils unleash unprecedented depth heading into the 2026 college basketball season—could this be Jon Scheyer’s most balanced squad yet? Buy-in and sacrifice are the rallying cries as returning standouts like Caleb Foster, Cayden Boozer, Dame Sarr, and Patrick Ngongba II embrace evolving roles. Scheyer’s public commitment to Duke is reaffirmed, even after the Dallas Mavericks’ pursuit, and lessons from last season’s Elite Eight heartbreak resurface as critical motivation.

Key topics include reactions to Duke’s in-house media day, analysis of veteran leadership and improved roster experience, and the potential impact of newcomers like John Blackwell and Drew Scharnowski. With high-powered freshmen joining the mix and defensive anchors setting the tone, how high is this team’s ceiling? JJ Jackson and guest Jeff Fedotin highlight the strengths and storylines that make Duke basketball must-watch as countdown to the new season begins.
