- Time of death was estimated between 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM on September 13, 2004; toxicology was clean and no sexual assault was found.
- The boathouse door used an exterior hasp-and-padlock assembly with a standard combination padlock placed through the hasp but not snapped shut, allowing the door to open inward.
- Under Lori’s right fingernails investigators recovered skin cells and trace fiber that did not match any profile in available databases.
