  • At 65, I'm Still Becoming | Living Strong Radio with Peter Liciaga
    2026/10/14

At 65 years old, I'm still learning, still growing, and still becoming.

Welcome back to Living Strong Radio! I'm Peter Simon Liciaga, and in this first episode of a new chapter, I'm reflecting on the experiences, people, and defining moments that continue to shape my life.

From growing up in the South Bronx to performing around the world, raising a family, and spending almost thirty years teaching martial arts, I've discovered that we're never finished becoming.

In this episode, I share reflections from a recent visit to the Bronx, reconnecting with my childhood friend Danny, and the lessons I've learned through more than five decades of martial arts.

I also introduce my A-Game philosophy—Awareness, Assessment, and Appropriate Action—and three questions that continue to guide me:

What can I do to make this better?
What can I do to not make this worse?
    What am I missing?

Living Strong Radio is about real stories, life lessons, resilience, relationships, gratitude, and becoming more skillful at being human.

These weekly conversations are inspired by my book, Living Strong Through Martial Arts: A Lifetime Journey of Martial Virtue.

  • Nina Pressing | A Powerful Voice… A Life on Stage… A Story to Tell
    2026/03/29

A powerful conversation with Nina Pressing.

In this episode of Voices of Starlight, I sit down with Nina Pressing—a respected and accomplished musical theater artist in Sweden—whose career spans leading roles in productions like Evita, Cats, Chicago, West Side Story, and more.

Nina and I shared the stage together in Starlight Express during its 10-year anniversary run in Bochum (1997–1998)… she as Pearl… me as Rocky 3.

In this conversation, we revisit that chapter… and go deeper.

    We talk about:

    • What it’s like to perform eight shows a week—and why she loved it
    • The energy of the audience and the power of connection
    • Her journey from early beginnings to leading roles
    • The transition from performer to artist… and continuing to grow
    • Her current work, including her show “Liza to Nina”

This is more than a conversation about theater…

It’s about discipline, passion, growth, and what it means to stay in the work over time.

If you listen closely, you’ll find something here that speaks to where you are right now.

🎙️ Living Strong is about showing up, doing the work, and discovering who you are through the process.

If something in this conversation resonates with you… I’d love to hear what that is.

  • Renee Chambers-Liciaga: Philly Soul Roots, Starlight Express & A Life in the Arts
    2026/03/22

In this special episode of the Living Strong Radio Show, Peter Liciaga sits down with someone who has been part of his life for nearly four decades — his wife, performer Renee Chambers-Liciaga.

Peter and Renee first met in 1986 at Hersheypark, where Renee was singing in the Rock & Roll Show and Peter was performing as a dancer in the park’s dance production. One year later they were married, beginning a partnership that has spanned music, theater, world travel, and family.

Renee grew up surrounded by the music industry. Her father, Roland Chambers, worked with the legendary Philadelphia International Records team alongside Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, and her mother was part of the iconic 1960s group The Orlons.

    In this conversation Renee shares:

    • what it was like growing up around the recording studio• her path into musical theater• performing in Starlight Express• lessons learned from a lifetime in the performing arts• advice for young women pursuing careers in entertainment

Today, Renee is currently in rehearsals for “Jelly’s Last Jam” at Bristol Riverside Theatre in Bristol, Pennsylvania.

This episode is also personal. Peter reflects on a song he wrote titled “One to Be Reckoned With,” inspired by the strength that comes from standing up for what you believe in — a principle that has been central to their relationship for more than 35 years.

A conversation about music, resilience, partnership, and what it truly means to Live Strong.
