  • Why Your Vision Board Isn’t Working
    2026/09/24

Have you ever looked at your vision board and felt further away from the life you want?

We’re good at picturing the house, the career and the freedom. But we don’t always picture what we’ll need to do to get there.

In this episode, I talk about why a vision board can start to feel discouraging, and how to turn one of those big dreams into a step you can actually take this week. We’ll also look at what to do when motivation fades or life gets in the way.

Keep the dream. Give it a next step.

Because the law of attraction doesn’t work without the law of action.

  • Why We Say “We Won”: The Psychology of Belonging
    2026/09/18

Why do we say “we won” when we weren’t even on the field?

In this episode of Listed & Living, Michael explores the psychology behind our emotional connection to sporting teams, and why a win or loss can affect us far more than it probably should.

But this episode isn’t really just about sport.

It’s about tribalism, our deeply human need to belong, and how the groups we identify with become part of who we are. From football clubs and friendship groups to workplaces and training communities, the people around us are constantly influencing the way we think, behave and see ourselves.

It raises an important question: if we naturally become more like the people around us, are we being intentional about who those people are?

A light-hearted but thoughtful conversation about sport, identity, friendship and finding the kind of tribe that brings out the best in you.

  • Nobody Owes You A Listing
    2026/09/12

    Nobody owes you a listing.

Not the market. Not your database. Not the vendor sitting across from you.

In this episode of Listed & Living I explore why success in real estate comes from earning the opportunity through preparation, consistency, genuine relationships and the value you bring long before the listing presentation.

When the market gets difficult, lowering your standard isn’t the answer. Take ownership, keep showing up and become the agent people trust with one of the biggest decisions of their lives.

Nobody owes you the listing, but you can become impossible to overlook.

  • How I Overcame Chronic Back Pain: My Story
    2026/09/05

After a freak training accident left me with two herniated discs and another protruding disc, I could barely walk and practically bed ridden for more than three months. At just 35, I genuinely believed my back was broken and that chronic pain would be part of my life forever.

In this deeply personal episode, I share the physical and mental toll of the injury, how fear caused me to lose confidence in my own body, and what I discovered about the powerful connection between the brain, the nervous system and chronic pain.

This isn’t a story about a miracle cure. It’s about hope, patience and rebuilding my life through small, consistent wins. Today, I’m back to lifting weights, boxing and hiking, stronger, wiser and no longer controlled by fear.

If you’re currently living with back pain, recovering from an injury or going through a difficult season, this episode is for you.

Remember: strength isn’t about ego. Strength is freedom.

Please note: I’m not a doctor or physiotherapist. This episode shares my personal experience and should not replace professional medical advice.

  • Has Your Standard Changed Because the Market Has?
    2026/08/29

Anyone can show up when business is booming, motivation is high and the results are flowing, but the tougher seasons are where your standards are truly tested.

In this episode of Listed & Living, Michael explores why difficult markets don’t remove opportunity, they remove competition. From cold winter mornings and empty gyms to unanswered calls and quiet pipelines, this episode is about continuing to plant the seeds when nobody is watching and the harvest hasn’t arrived yet.

Because the market doesn’t decide your future. Your standards do.

  • How Much Do You Really Want It?
    2026/08/23

It’s easy to say you want something when everything is going well. But what happens when things get harder, motivation fades, and the results aren’t coming as quickly as you hoped?

In the first episode of Listed & Living, Michael Carter explores a simple question that applies to your career, your goals and life in general:

How much do you really want it?

Because wanting something and being willing to do what it takes to achieve it are two very different things.

    In this episode, Michael explores:

    • Why “tomorrow” can become one of the biggest barriers to progress
    • Why you should never compare your Chapter 1 to someone else’s Chapter 30
    • The Three W’s: Want It. Work It. Win It.
    • How keeping the promises you make to yourself builds confidence
    • Why consistency often matters more than motivation
    • A simple challenge to help turn intention into action

Whether you’re building a career, chasing a goal, starting something new or simply trying to become a better version of yourself, this episode is a reminder that progress rarely comes down to one big moment.

It comes down to what you’re willing to do, consistently, when nobody else is watching.

Because success isn’t built on what you intend to do. It’s built on what you actually do.
