Willa and her guest Mary Eileen McNamara discuss the history of Lily Dale and some of its residents buried in the nearby Cassadaga Cemetery. Eileen has researched 186 significant Lily Dale figures, including founding families like the Aldens, the Turner family, and notable Spiritualists such as Maggie Turner who was known for providing business mediumship advice to stock market investors. The discussion covered historical figures like CorydonTurner who helped establish Lily Dale, Minnie Dowd who predicted her own death accurately, and Lieutenant Edward Prettyman who served as a Civil War physician in prisoner of war camps. Mary Eileen explained her research methods using historical newspapers and cemetery records, particularly mentioning websites like findagrave.com and fultonhistory.com for genealogical research.
