Do you know that God does not love you or reward you for what you do? He is not like Santa who has a reputation for bringing gifts based on whether you have been good or bad. God’s grace, his mercy and his love are his free gift. Our worship, Bible study, etc. are great and vitally important elements in our lives, but they are not to earn favor with the Lord, rather they are tools that we can use to help us connect more deeply with God. This season of Lent, please know that this gift is available to YOU, but we must be willing to receive it!

Hardships, shame, depression, sin – these are all areas of our lives that the devil uses to dismantle our joy and separate us from God. The season of Lent, a time for confronting our own sin, is a 40-day journey that helps us focus on the peace, love and joy that comes from God. Lent is a path guiding us into greater focus on our Lord, helping us shut out the vicious attacks of our horrible enemy – Satan, sowe can grow into a deeper relationship with God.
