Saumya Pandit is a symbolic representation of all the Pandits from Kashmir who were forced to leave their homeland – all the pandits who lost their loved ones.

A Kashmiri Poet and Scholar. Premi had spent his whole life with Muslim neighbours. He was sure when things will go wrong, nobody would touch him. Infact, he believed his Muslim Neighbours will protect him. His relatives repeatedly told him to leave the valley - but he had full faith in his Muslim Neighbours. On the night of April 29, 1990 - three armed men forcefully entered his house - Premi and his son were led away from the house by armed men. After a day, their bodies were found hanging from a tree - nails had been hammered right between their eyebrows - the place where Pandits apply Tilak.
