  • Day 2 of HRT for Perimenopause
    2026/06/17
Hello, I'm in my late 40's and perimenopause.
I started HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) on June 15, 2026 and I’m sharing my journey each step of the way.

    My background:
I was on birth control for over 20 years and decided to stop taking it in my mid 30's because I didn't want to keep putting hormones into my body, I wanted to be drug-free. Shortly after, I got my tubes tied.
In 2023 I visited my gyn for heavy periods. An ultrasound confirmed it was fibroids, which is what I suspected. She suggested endometrial ablation as well as HRT, like a low dose birth control pill or a Mirena IUD.

NONE of that appealed to me. I was EXTREMELY against HRT because I was anti medication and anti procedure. So instead, I decided to continue taking Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for my heavy period days.

About a year after that appt I got on the GLP-1 Tirzepatide (compounded Zepbound) and lost over 45 pounds. My heavy period days still happened, but usually just one day per cycle as opposed to two days.

However, recently I started experiencing very irregular periods. Sometimes late but more often it was frequent occurrences with lots of spotting in between. Super disruptive!!
Other symptoms have been intense nights sweats, more hot flashes (vasomotor stuff like red flushed face and neck), anxiety spikes and brain fog. Other less frequent symptoms have been tingly fingertips, heart flutters, and electric shocks.
Sooo I went down the rabbit hole of researching perimenopause and HRT. And I found recent studies that debunked the old studies that used to demonized HRT. The newer studies show the benefits far outweigh the risks.

Based on that, I decided to pull the trigger and pursue HRT for my perimenopause symptoms. I have been VERY nervous about it BUT I’m pushing through my fears to see if it alleviate my symptoms, plus reap the potential health benefits like preventing osteoporosis, cognitive decline, and cardiovascular disease.

Here I talk about my personal experience with HRT.

  • Addiction is a mofo!
    2026/04/27
Addiction is a sneaky, insidious mofo! This episode is about my recurring struggle with addiction to alcohol and how it’s a domino effect that leads to over drinking and over eating. I’m still on the GLP-1 injection of Tirzepatide (the compound version of Zepbound) for maintenance. When I first began taking it a couple years ago, it was a miracle drug and answered my prayers to stop over eating and over drinking. At first, I didn’t want to drink at all and then after a while I would have a drink or two on weekends maybe. But these last several months I have been drinking almost every day, which sometimes leads to over drinking and that usually leads me to over eat. Those were my two biggest problems before I started the GLP-1 shot, which was when I was at my heaviest. I’ve come too far to go back to those bad habits!

  • People who interrupt you while you're talking aka bad listeners aka conversation vampires
    2025/09/10
Have you had enough of people who constantly interrupt you while you're talking? AKA bad listeners AKA conversation vampires who hijack the conversation and give you zero feedback or acknowledgement? People who always want to top your story like it's a competition? Well so am I! This has always been one of my biggest pet peeves about people and I have even cut people off and out of my life for this reason!
I've had enough of the BS and I'm ready to work on ME and acknowledge MY mistakes in these situations - how I'm minimizing myself and feeding these vampires. I'm ready to respond differenty, change the game/flip the script on these inconsiderate aholes!
Do I sound mad? It’s because I am, and mostly at myself. That's why I'm acknowledging MY part in this and using it as fuel to change ME, and ultimately change the dynamic.

It all boils down to self love and knowing I am worthy of being heard. I am worthy of receiving the same treatment that I give - reciprocation. It's taken me 40+ years to get to this point, but I am here now and it is not too late. Come with me on this journey as I am just beginning to scratch the tip of the iceberg.

  • Just STFU & listen! For the talkers that won't STFU & the listeners who are sick of it!
    2025/09/08
Have u ever been irritated af after talking to someone who doesn't listen, never gives feedback when trying to share your experience with them, who constantly hijacks the convo to talk about themselves and their experiences, and always tries to one-up / top your story? OR are YOU one of those people? Then this episode is for YOU!!
I just had to vent about this topic. It's one of my biggest pet peeves! Too many people don't know how to have a DIALOGUE. Every conversation with them turns into a MONOlogue about THEM and it's really annoying!
