In Called Out, we see how Abram’s story points us toward Christ and demonstrates what genuine faith looks like. God still calls people out of sin, out of the world, and out of comfortable places to follow Him. Faith is more than simply believing, it's trusting God enough to surrender, obey, and follow wherever He leads.

Abraham believed God and stepped out in faith, but as the years passed and the promise remained unfulfilled, impatience led him and Sarah to take matters into their own hands. Ishmael was the result of a decision that made sense from a human perspective but was not God’s plan. Through Abraham’s story, we learn that faith is often tested in the waiting, and that walking by faith means trusting not only God’s promise, but also His timing. Even when past decisions have brought consequences, God’s purposes are not finished, we can surrender those situations to Him, seek His wisdom, and learn to walk in the Spirit rather than getting ahead of God.

In Part Four of The Scarlet Thread, we follow the story from Abel’s sacrifice to the cross and discover that salvation is not found in what we bring to God, but in the better sacrifice He provided for us: Jesus Christ.

In Genesis 3, everything changes. Sin enters the human story, bringing shame, separation, suffering, and death, but even in the middle of mankind’s rebellion, God reveals His plan of redemption. From the Garden of Eden to the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we begin to see the Scarlet Thread woven through Scripture: what mankind lost through sin, God restores through Christ. In Part Two of The Scarlet Thread, “Made in His Image,” we return to the opening chapters of Genesis to discover God’s original design for humanity. We were uniquely created in the image of God, made for relationship with Him and one another, and given purpose under His authority. But sin distorted what God created to be good. In this message, we see how the story of redemption is not simply about forgiveness, it is about Jesus restoring what sin has broken and the Holy Spirit transforming us into the people God created us to be.
