His dynamic style weaves seamlessly through multiple genres all while in service to a sound that just gets that ass moving. Unless you've been living under a rock or missed the event for the last.... decade or so.... you know this force of nature behind the decks. So for the eighth episode of the Leyenda Radio Broadcast...

It's Fleetwood Smack.

Captivated by house, breaks, and the mid 90’s east coast rave culture they spawned, Adam and Niles have been fixated on Electronic Music for most of their lives. Though Adam started by playing jungle and drum n’ bass, by the height of the rave scene in Orlando in 1999, he was best known for moving the dancefloor with a blend of deep and funky house. 1,000 miles to the north, in addition to organizing his own events, Niles was working with the legendary Fever and
Buzz events of Baltimore and Washington, DC.

After meeting in Los Angeles and comparing collections, Adam and Niles immediately formed a camaraderie. With tastes so perfectly matched, playing together was a natural evolution. In their first public performance atop the Charlie The Unicorn art car at Burning Man 2011, they dropped a blend of funky, dirty, and electro house and breaks that slayed the dance floor. Immediately after returning their rented Fleetwood RV they took on the name Fleetwood Smack and in the
years to follow, have developed a unique sound blending a unifying element of funk across a variety of house and techno sub-genres.

In 2016, they produced their first track, Shake It Mamma, which climbed to 13 on Beatport’s Funky House chart. In the years since, they’ve released collaborations with DJ Dan, Mike Balance, Neighbour, and Skolo, regularly breaking the top 10. Between their production and a 31-year-old arsenal of music comprised of over 16,000 quality house, breaks, and techno tracks, Fleetwood Smack has what it takes to curate a sound that keeps the dance floor jumping.

The artist for our sixth episode is one big fuzzy ball of panda-love having steered through the other high demand set time (Sunrise) in the canyon in the past, it was time for him to bring his gooey warm bouncy goodness to the Pool Party. One of our favorite sets and favorite human-panda hybrids...

It's BamBoom.

Part panda. Part human. All bouncy dancefloor goodness. Specializing in a fun-loving blend of funky house, nostalgic pop and mashup, Bamboom is known for the kinds of sets that make a family out of perfect strangers and leave an entire dance floor in a group hug.

This panda has been spotted in behind the decks at Burning Man, Leyenda Del Corazon, The Gathering, The Opulent Temple White Party, Kostume Kult events in NYC, Youtopia and LA Decom, while spearheading epic summertime parties for The Mystikal Misfits theme camp.

The artist for our fifth episode absolutely slayed Friday night's dancefloor. She has been a staple in the canyon both as an artist and an attendee for a long time and she is an amazing, talented, and dedicated force in the scene today.

It's Nicky Genesis.

Nicky Genesis has her own unique and beautifully bewitching sound. Ranging from deep, groovy & soulful, to pulsing bass driven house music and beyond, this Las Vegas based DJ/ Producer has rocked clubs and festivals throughout the world for 15 years+.

With a growing collection of productions, Nicky has released an array of tracks and remixes solidifying her love and talent for music that rocks you. Since 2011, Nicky has continued to release productions on record labels such as Glo, Build it Records, Simplify, Heavy Artillery, Sony, and Pinnacle Collective, just to name a few.

The versatility and finesse within Nicky's sound has received growing support across the industry and across multiple channels. Her charismatic flow is contagious to listeners, and since landing her podcasts on Di.fm radio her fan base has exploded to a global scale.

When it comes to live performances, Nicky has an art for keeping audiences guessing what musical path she will journey down next. With her high vibes and heart pulsing effects, Nicky’s energy always delivers an experience that listeners can't forget.

Our fourth episode is a study in ethereal, dynamic, and narrative sets. In the wee hours of Saturday morning, this set brought us all back to life.

It's Butterfly Catcher.

NEIL BLACK aka BUTTERFLY CATCHER IS A POSITIVE FORCE in the Southern California Electronic Music Scene. Heavily influenced by House & Breaks in the late-90's West Coast rave culture, Neil started to build a sound system that would specialize in these frequencies. Fast forward a decade, and Bomb Shelta Sound was organically building a name by sonically fortifying many legendary events in the San Diego area.

As the outdoor/campout event scene began to develop in the 2010s, Neil cofounded the production company Monarch Metamorphosis that would build custom staging, artistic props and provide cool lighting & effects. This lead to an opportunity to build a sound camp at San Diego's regional Burning Man decompression festival Youtopia. This was a huge creative space, and as the festival grew, Monarch tripled in size and became the main sound camp, with some legendary themes from 2016-2018. Back in San Diego, Monarch was also producing a series of events OHM Oscillating Head Music in their home town of Ocean Beach. Monarch collabed with In Da Hoody to produce the Prizm series of one room/ multi-genre live art events, and partnered up with Broken Beat on the It's A Vibe Bass music events. Monarch went on to procuce their own Spring campout event series Bug Out, with 4 annual events to date.

Throughout these events, Neil's Butterfly Catcher DJ project began to take shape. Focusing on the gentler, headier, melodic side of electronic music, Butterfly Catcher lifts up a dancefloor in the early hours, to help set the vibe off right, so it can spread its wings on a positive note. Butterfly Catcher is bringing some sonic soul to the So Cal scene, and putting smiles on the faces of a dancefloor near you.
