  • TMNT Secret of the Ooze 35th Anniversary | God of War Series Update + Nicolas Cage Ep. 132
    2026/02/01

Welcome back to the podcast! Today we’re diving deep into nostalgia, major entertainment news, and some legendary film talk that you won’t want to miss.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze is officially celebrating its 35th anniversary, and fans will soon have the chance to experience it the way it was meant to be seen — on the big screen. The special theatrical re-release runs nationwide from March 13 through March 19, 2026, with tickets on sale now. We break down why this fan-favorite sequel still delivers more than three decades later and how it captured the height of Turtlemania with bigger action, funnier moments, unforgettable villains, and a whole lot of pizza.

From the mysterious mutagen that expanded the franchise mythology to the unforgettable arrival of Tokka and Rahzar, Secret of the Ooze helped define a generation of fans. And yes — we absolutely talk about the iconic “Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go” moment that no longtime Turtle fan could ever forget.

We also shift gears to one of the most anticipated video game adaptations in development. Amazon’s live-action God of War series has officially received a two-season order and is currently in pre-production in Vancouver. Based on the critically acclaimed 2018 game and its sequel Ragnarök, the series will follow Kratos and his son Atreus as they journey through the Norse realm of Midgard. With a story centered on fatherhood, redemption, and the battle against powerful gods and monsters, expectations are already sky-high.

Ryan Hurst has been cast as Kratos, bringing serious presence to the role after previously portraying Thor in God of War: Ragnarök. The project is led by acclaimed showrunner Ronald D. Moore, with Emmy-winning director Frederick E.O. Toye set to helm the first two episodes. While production is underway, the scale of the series suggests a premiere is likely no earlier than 2027.

We also discuss Madden, the upcoming film starring Nicolas Cage that explores the incredible life of John Madden — from his Super Bowl-winning partnership with Al Davis and the Raiders to building the Madden NFL video game empire and becoming one of the most recognizable voices in football history.

To close things out, we highlight some of the best Nicolas Cage movies that prove why he remains one of Hollywood’s most unique and enduring stars, including Face/Off, Con Air, The Rock, and Knowing.

If you enjoy deep dives into pop culture, movie nostalgia, major entertainment announcements, and passionate discussions from true fans, this episode is for you.

  • Travis Orndorff Interview - "Mr. Wonderful" - Bonus Episode.
    2026/01/25

Chondel and Devin from The Bury the Booking Podcast and The Level Down Podcast had the pleasure of joining Kevin Jefferies (aka “Lito”) and Keith Hayes (aka “Sinista1”) on the Turnbuckles and Spilt Liquor Podcast for a very special interview with Travis Orndorff — son of the legendary Paul “Mr. Wonderful” Orndorff.

In this episode, Travis shares stories and insight into the life and legacy of his father, Paul Orndorff Jr. (October 29, 1949 – July 12, 2021) — an American professional wrestler and football player best known for his iconic runs in the WWF and WCW.

After spending seven years competing across the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Orndorff became a major star during the 1980s WWF wrestling boom. Managed by the legendary Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, he was heavily featured alongside Hulk Hogan, including main events at the first-ever WrestleMania and Survivor Series.

In 1990, Orndorff jumped to WCW, where he captured the WCW World Television Championship and the WCW World Tag Team Championship alongside Paul Roma as the team Pretty Wonderful. Following his in-ring career, Paul transitioned into training the next generation of wrestlers.

Despite arm atrophy caused by a long-term injury forcing his retirement in 2000, Orndorff’s impact on professional wrestling never faded. His legendary career was honored with inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame (2005) and the NWA Hall of Fame (2009).

This is a must-watch conversation for fans of classic wrestling, wrestling history, and the legacy of one of the true greats — Mr. Wonderful.

  • CHILDHOOD NOSTALGIA EDITION Ep. 130
    2026/01/18

This episode of the Level Down Podcast is powered by pure childhood nostalgia. We’re talking everything that made childhood special — cartoons, theme songs, weird shows, forgotten classics, and the stuff you probably haven’t thought about in decades.

We’re also spotlighting Big Saturday Morning Co., a brand dedicated to keeping that nostalgic magic alive — from cartoons and toys to cereal, games, prizes, and more.

If you lived for cartoons, cereal, and chaos on Saturday mornings — this episode is for you.

“The Sailor Moon Theme Song was the theme song for the English dub of the anime. It used the same melody as the song Moonlight Legend, but had very different lyrics (said to be written by Andy Heyward) and an altered instrumental. It should also be noted the song somewhat resembles a superhero anthem, rather than being about love like Moonlight Legend was. At the time the English dub was released, it was unusual for anime theme songs to be translated, and this was one of the first attempts to do so in English since the anime Star Blazers in 1979. On the CD Sailor Moon: Songs From The Hit TV Series, Nicole and Brynne Price are credited as writers of this song. However, the S.A.F. Remix of the song, as featured on the CD Sailor Moon: The Full Moon Collection credited Monroe Michaels as the lyricist”.

The Darkwing Duck Theme is the opening song for every episode of Darkwing Duck. The song's lyrics and music were composed and made by Steve Nelson and Thomas Sharp.

Created by Tad Stones Directed by Tad Stones Alan Zaslove Voices of Jim Cummings Terry McGovern Christine Cavanaugh Theme music composer Steve Nelson Thom Sharp Opening theme "Darkwing Duck Theme" by Jeff Pescetto Steve Tyrell Kasey Cisyk Ending theme "Darkwing Duck Theme" (Instrumental) Composer Philip Giffin

  • Massive Worlds, Dying Game Stores & Gaming’s Uncertain Future Ep. 129
    2026/01/11

This week on The Level Down Podcast, we’re breaking down some of the biggest and most concerning stories in gaming right now — from absurdly massive open worlds to the slow death of physical game stores and the permanent loss of online-only games.

🔥 Crimson Desert might be one of the biggest open-world games ever made. Pearl Abyss says the world of Pywel is bigger than Red Dead Redemption 2 and at least double the size of Skyrim. We talk scale, combat, hype, and whether massive open worlds are still exciting… or just exhausting.

🏬 GameStop is shutting down nearly 300 stores to kick off 2026, with more potentially on the chopping block. Employees finding out via signs on the door, customers losing their closest store, and physical games slowly being erased. Are we still going to GameStop? Where are we buying physical games now? Is Amazon part of the problem?

⚰️ Anthem officially shuts down January 12, 2026. Once the servers go dark, the game is gone forever — no offline mode, no preservation. Love it or hate it, Anthem’s shutdown is another reminder of how fragile modern gaming ownership really is.

🎬 Plus, we dip into entertainment and comic book chaos, including:

    • Damson Idris rumored as the next Black Panther

    • James Marsden returning as Cyclops

    • Sebastian Stan reportedly playing Harvey Dent in The Batman Part II

    • Scarlett Johansson as Gilda Gold

    • The push for Jeremy Renner as Green Arrow

    • And wild talk about Melissa Barrera as Wonder Woman

    💬 We want YOUR thoughts:

    • Are massive open-world games still exciting or too bloated?

    • Are you done with GameStop, or do you still support physical stores?

    • Should online-only games be allowed to disappear forever?
