  • Let's Play with a Recovered Body
    2026/05/04

Isn't is incredible to play your sport when you physically feel 100%?

When your body feels good, everything changes. You move better, react faster, and you're not thinking about pain, soreness, or fatigue--you're just playing.

In this episode, Coach Jojo talks about how important it is to have a recovered body, a few ways of how to recover your body (nutrition, sleep, physical therapy), and the difference between sore vs. fatigued.

But this episode isn't just about doing more recovery. It's about being intentional and actually learning about your body. Understanding how your body responds, what it needs, and even how your mind plays a role in how you feel and perform.

Not only is being recovered physically feel good, but it also helps with confidence. When your body feels strong and ready, you trust it more--and that trust shows up in how you play.

Those bad practices where you feel like you've become a completely different, struggling player doesn't mean anything is wrong with your capabilities. It could just mean that your body isn't the same as it usually is when you're at your best.

It's your job to understand and develop the knowledge of how your body and mind work because that's when you'll gain control. And when you have control over yourself, that is the best feeling in the world.

  • Let's Play to be Coachable
    2026/04/27

Being coachable is one of the most overlooked skills in sports—and it can completely change your experience as an athlete.

In this episode, Coach Jojo breaks down why most athletes are never actually taught how to build a real relationship with their coach, and why that matters more than you think. Whether you have a great coach or a difficult one, your ability to be coachable can either elevate your game or hold you back.

She’ll talk about how to handle tough coaching situations, why taking accountability (instead of playing the victim) gives you control, and how developing this skill can impact your confidence, playing time, and overall performance.

Not only that, Coach Jojo also dives into why it’s not about how often you talk to your coach—it’s about how effective those conversations are. One honest, intentional conversation can do more for your growth than constant surface-level communication.

If you’ve ever struggled with a coach, felt frustrated with feedback, or want to stand out in a way most athletes don’t think about, this episode is for you.

    Tools:

    1. Quality over quantity conversations
    2. Don’t be a victim (stop complaining)!
    3. Approach communication with open ended questions

  • Let's Play Without Comparison
    2026/04/06

Do you compare yourself to your teammates? To an opponent? To yourself?

Comparison is toxic to our mind when we play our sport because we end up putting more pressure on ourselves...

Am I on the same timeline as everyone else? Am I worse than I was last season? When will I be better than the player coach is playing over me?

In today's episode, Coach Jojo breaks down why comparison is one of the biggest issues of why you aren't excelling in your sport.

As much as you might think comparing yourself is helping you out, it's actually setting you further back. Maybe you think that it's motivating you to work harder, but Jojo will tell you that the comparison mindset will create so many extra negative emotions.

Comparison creates guilt, enyy, and jealously and we never want to play with those emotions when we can avoid that.

Not only will Coach Jojo explain why comparison is a mindset you need to get out of, she also provides you 3 tools of how to help train your mind to not compare:

    1. Journal your limiting beliefs

    2. Back to Me Method

    3. Become grateful (realization)

Give this podcast a listen if you even remotely find yourself feeling behind from others, feeling envious, or like you're out of some control with yourself. This podcast will help you with that!

  • Let's Play with our Instincts
    2026/03/16

Do you ever feel like your instincts are "bad" or that you don't have them? Well, you're wrong.

You're wrong because there is no such thing as a bad instinct nor is there such a thing of a good instinct. And let me also tell you that we all have instincts--we just have to find a way to let them come out naturally.

But why does Coach Jojo think this is a subject worth talking about in our sport?

Instincts are EVERYTHING in our sport because playing a sport is fast. You have to make reactions right on the spot and in the moment, but that becomes hard to do when you're thinking about everything.

Thinking about your mechanics, your techniques, whether or not you're going to make the correct play, not to messing up, and playing perfectly.

Our thoughts are slow and our instincts are fast.

In this episode, Coach Jojo chats about how crucial it is to unlock your inner powers, A.K.A. your instincts. She lets you know that your overthinking thoughts are the reason for why you can't play on the fly, which results in you not playing like yourself.

And who is having fun when they're playing like themselves? Not me!

The irony of having an instinct is to develop the skill to not think (or overthink for that matter), but it actually does require some thinking in order to develop the skill. Luckily, Coach Jojo provides 3 tools of how to help yourself become a reactor and not an over-thinker.

    1. TRUST your first read

    2. TRUST in a word

    3. TRUST in your reactions

If you're struggling with playing off of an instinct, this episode will help you unlock your future! (Of course if you also practice and do the work yourself.)

  • Let's Play Imperfect
    2026/03/09

Are you an athlete that is ALWAYS trying to avoid mistakes in practices or games/matches? If you are, that means you want to play perfectly, and guess what? That's not possible!

In this episode, Coach Jojo calls out the athletes that are trying to play perfectly and why that issue is causing you problems. The main issue being that you probably have a control issue, but she is able to name give you three other reasons why you shouldn't try to play without making mistakes.

    1. It's not possible to play perfectly

    2. Could make you play nervous, in fear, and with pressure

    3. Makes you not play like yourself

Luckily, Jojo also tells the struggling athletes how to fix it with three tools (and some random advice throughout the whole episode).

    1. Expect mistakes before the game

    2. Be "Playable"

    3. Don't predetermine what you're going to do

You want to play perfectly (avoiding mistakes to not get taken out of the game, the fear of being judged by a play you'll make, not wanting to disappoint yourself or someone else in your life) because you're trying to avoid negative emotions.

    P.S.

If you find the name of this episode to be scary and like it's freaking you out to ever play "imperfectly", then you really need to listen to this episode.

  • Let's Play with Goals
    2026/03/02

Time to set goals and actually achieve them!

Are you someone who sets goals, but never seems to actually get to the end because you stop halfway through? Or are you someone who can't seem to design your path in the "correct" way and you don't know if you can trust your path? Well then you're in the right place!

This isn't for people who aren't motivated. This podcast is for people who are motivated and want to set goals, but just needs some guidance to get there.

In this episode, Coach Jojo talks about the 3 types of goal setters (you could be 1 or 2 or all 3).

    1. Outcome Goal Setter (what you want)

    2. Performance Goal Setter (what you can control)

    3. Identity Goal Setter (who you are becoming)

Then, she talks about the ways your goals could be stopping your success and the reasons why you are stopping halfway through your journey. And of course, she provides a tool with each of them instead of just leaving you out to dry.

    1. Your Goals Might Be Making You Play Worse

    Tool:

    Pre-season --> goal setting

    In season --> goal trusting

    Post-season --> goal adjusting

    2. Stop Setting Goals You Don't Control

    Tool: Goal filter question

    - Is this 100% in my control?

    3. The Difference Between Dreaming and Committing

    Tool:

    - Write down your goals & actually take action

    4. Why You Quit Goals Halfway Through

    Tool: Timeline Rule

    - Take emotion out, track behavior only

    BONUS TOOL:

    - Instead of: "Don't mess up" --> Say: "Attack with confidence"

Definition of a goal: The object of a person's ambition or effort; an aim or desired result; the destination of a journey; a point of making the end of a race.

  • Let's Play with Motivation
    2026/02/23

Do you feel like you lack motivation to go to practice, to get extra work in, to give your 100% effort?

Well, let me tell you that this happens to every athlete and that there is NOTHING wrong with you. You just need to learn to manage your mind.

In this episode, Coach Jojo talks about the reasons you feel unmotivated, but the biggest one being that when you play a sport on a team, controlled by someone else (your coach), you don't want to go to obligated things.

You're obligated to go to practice. You're obligated to cheer on the bench. You're obligated to do conditioning drills, despite how you're feeling that day.

How do I make myself inspired and motived to go to things I'm forced to go to, Coach Jojo? How do I get motivated to go to practice when I really don't want to?!

She will provide tools for those exact questions:

    1. Grateful list.

    2. Change the word "have to" --> "get to."

    3. Goals to set for yourself that will make you excited to do a drill you don't want to do. To go to a practice you don't want to go to. To go to a game you don't want to go to.

Chances are, you can't find reasons to want to do things that you're being forced to do... Unless we change that mindset of yours. Let's change it RIGHT NOW!!!

    Let's play with motivation!

  • Let's Play Unbothered
    2026/02/16

    Let’s Play Unbothered

If other people can control your emotions, they control your performance.

In this episode, we’re breaking down what it really means to play unbothered — and no, it’s not being lazy, emotionless, or disengaged. It’s being stable. Focused. Dangerous.

I talk about why athletes get bothered in the first place (identity, approval, fear of embarrassment), the bad habits that show up because of it (overthinking, playing tight, reacting to refs and coaches), and the hidden cost of being emotionally reactive in your sport.

Then I give you FIVE practical tools you can use immediately:

    • The Control Audit
    • The One-Play Mindset
    • The “Let Them” perspective shift
    • The Identity Shift
    • The Physical Reset

Being unbothered is not a personality trait. It’s a skill. And if you want to compete freely, aggressively, and consistently — you need it.

    Let’s play unbothered.
