Legendary British photographer and filmmaker Mark Lebon joins Jean Campbell for an open and characteristically candid conversation about addiction, recovery, fatherhood, creativity and romantic love.

Mark reflects on the moment seeing his young son compelled him to get sober, after believing his drug use might kill him. He explores what more than 30 years of recovery have taught him about emotional pain, self-abandonment, discipline and taking responsibility for his own healing.

Drawing on Buddhism’s Four Noble Truths, Mark also considers the relationship between desire and suffering, the impermanence of our emotional states and how these teachings have shaped his approach to pain and recovery.

They also discuss Mark’s influential creative career, his collaborations with Judy Blame and Christopher Nemeth, the process of bringing order to a chaotic life through his work, and why he has come to see pain as a warning, a boundary and a guide.

I’m Fine is hosted by Jean Campbell.
