What does Saint Paul mean when he warns us against seeking justification through the law—while the Psalms tell us to love God’s commandments?
In today’s episode of the DTESH Catholic Place Podcast, we explore Galatians 5:1–6 and Jesus’ confrontation with the Pharisees in Luke 11:37–41 to discover the difference between merely appearing righteous and being transformed by the grace of Christ.
At the center of the readings is Saint Paul’s powerful teaching: “faith that worketh by charity.”
Drawing from Sacred Scripture, Haydock’s Catholic Bible Commentary, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Saint Thomas Aquinas, and the teaching of the Church, we examine how grace, faith, obedience, and works of charity belong together in the Catholic life.
Christ does not free us so that our actions no longer matter. He frees us from trying to save ourselves and gives us the grace to become capable of truly loving God and our neighbor.
In this episode, discover why Christian freedom is not freedom from holiness, why outward religious practice must flow from interior conversion, and why living faith necessarily becomes active through charity.
Based on the Catholic Mass readings for Tuesday of the Twenty-Eighth Week in Ordinary Time, October 13, 2026.
