Mark introduces the music of David Crosby, possibly the greatest of the Laurel Canyon geniuses.    A deeply flawed individual, who was nonetheless responsible for some fabulous music.    Again Mark uses Crosby’s musical output to illustrate his life and times.

Mark chooses his ‘best of’ Laurel Canyon playlist.    Twelve songs from different artists illustrate the variety of musical styles and shows just how much talent there was in the Canyon in such a short period of time.

Here Mark traces the gradual demise of the musical enclave at Laurel Canyon illustrated by the music of those who lived there.    External events and self-inflicted wounds poisoned the flowering of paradise.

Mark tries to explain the incredible flowering of music in the enclave of Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles from 1965 to 1975.    Collaboration between the young musicians was common and gave birth to early psychedelia (The Doors and Love), folk rock (The Eagles), incredible harmonies (Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young) with some of the greatest singer song writers of the time (Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Carole King).
