Haley Hatch Freeman and Misty Smith launch season two of Latter-day Miracles by welcoming speaker and author Kathy Loveless, who shares experiences she describes as communications from the other side and urges listeners to record their stories and listen for divine guidance. Kathy recounts silently wishing to thank the surgeon who removed her left lung and then unexpectedly meeting the surgeon’s wife two days later. She describes joining the LDS Church as a child despite her parents’ opposition, building a speaking career, and receiving a prompting to start bicycling that quickly relieved severe plantar fasciitis. Kathy then details her stage four terminal lung cancer diagnosis, the removal of her entire left lung, and her recovery through incremental training that led to cycling from Austria to Germany. She also shares how she was led to meet Kim Reeves and how, after her husband Scott died of colon cancer, Kim reported Scott appeared to her with a message of love—beginning further messages through 13 people, to be continued in part two.

On Latter-day Miracles, host Haley Hatch Freeman interviews author and addiction advocate Kelly Clark, who shares her journey from childhood anxiety, self-harm, and a family faith crisis into decades of alcoholism and drug addiction. After placing children for adoption, losing custody of other children, and becoming homeless, she supported her heroin and meth use through prostitution in Salt Lake City and became trapped in a violent network, including a kidnapping and beating. In a motel bathroom, she felt her deceased father’s presence, who told her she would go home, help others, and write her story, sparking her to pray for the willingness to change. Later, while newly sober in Denver, she prayed for comfort, and sister missionaries arrived moments later, helping her turn to scripture, faith, and 12-step recovery. Kelly describes radical belief in Christ’s Atonement as key to overcoming shame and rebuilding her life and relationships.

Tiffany shares how faith practices like hymns, scripture, and focusing on gratitude helped her endure a violent childhood with a mother diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder (multiple personalities), including 14 personalities ranging from a three-year-old boy to terrifying encounters with an alter named “Bill.” She teaches about recognizing Satan’s tactics, using prayer, fasting, and faith to push back darkness, and becoming “light keepers” in the latter-days. Tiffany describes a pivotal mission experience that reframed her mother as someone who broke cycles of abuse.

She felt overwhelming peace and the message “there are no mistakes” just before learning her baby, Tessa, had Down syndrome, and she describes subsequent support from ward members and family, including her mother sensing “grandmothers” present. Mindy shares later incidents where she believes Tessa was protected after being locked in a bathroom with running water, and where her son survived a significant fall from a window with minimal injury. She emphasizes praying always, sharing testimony despite anxiety, and that we are never alone because family members on the other side are invested in our lives.

Abby describes promptings ignored about seat belts, the crash, and a series of “little miracles,” including immediate help from someone with a phone, an EMT bishop guided by the Spirit, her parents arriving at the scene, and priesthood blessings—one from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland—emphasizing “Thy will be done.” After three months in the hospital, Abby regained breathing, feeling, and the ability to walk, later marrying Cole and building a family, while teaching gratitude, positive focus, humor, and avoiding comparison in trials.
