Lanterns episode 4 review and the three things my comment section called before it aired. Three times in two weeks I stood in front of this camera and asked the Know-It-All Nation a real question. What is the anomaly in Rushville. Who is the Manhunter. Which order will John Stewart refuse. Then Lanterns episode 4 aired on Sunday night and answered all three, and every one of those answers was already sitting in my comment section, in writing, with a name on it, before a single frame ran. So the first few minutes of this video are a receipts montage, and then I get insufferable about it for a while. Underneath the victory lap is the best hour this show has made. John Stewart gets a direct order from a Guardian, gets the ring on his finger, and does not say the oath. Nobody sees him do it. The show does not even tell you it happened until he gives it up in a car forty minutes later. Four hours of television building a man who cannot say no, and when he finally does it, he does it by not speaking. That is the episode, and everything else in this hour hangs off that one silence.
