Originally recorded 29/01/2024. As usual, the show started with an update on the week's news stories in the realm of American politics. First up was the 'bipartisan' immigration bill discussed by Congress, and the issues Trump caused for it. This was followed by a discussion of the execution of an individual in Alabama, using nitrogen hypoxia as the method of execution for the first time in the US. Another difficult case was that of Jennifer Crumbley, convicted of being criminally liable for her son's school shooting, the first time a parent was given partial responsibility in such a situation. Next was Governor Mike DeWine of Ohio's veto on an anti-transgender bill that was overturned. The final news story of the week was the candidate debate for the special election to fill Senator Dianne Feinstein's seat.

Trump succeeded immensely in both, breaking records for a non-incumbent candidate. This was followed by various drop-outs, from Ramaswamy and DeSantis.
