Part of the Insights into Mental Health Services in Lanarkshire series.
In this episode, we discuss the Primary Care Occupational Therapy service and its role in supporting patients experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties. Although distinct from specialist mental health services, the service works with individuals whose wellbeing challenges are affecting their ability to engage in day-to-day activities and occupations. We explore functional impact, behavioural activation, goal-focused interventions, readiness for change, and the practical support occupational therapists can offer to help people participate more fully in everyday life.
