Part of the Insights into Mental Health Services in Lanarkshire series.
In this episode, we explore two key components of Older Adult Mental Health Services in Lanarkshire: Psychological Therapies for Older People (PTOP) and the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (OA CMHT). Through linked discussions with representatives from both services, we examine their respective roles, referral pathways, and the patients most likely to benefit from each. We also explore how PTOP and OA CMHT work alongside one another to provide coordinated support for older adults experiencing mental health difficulties and cognitive change.
This episode provides educational content for trained health professionals. It is not designed for use by the general public and does not constitute clinical advice. Please note that pathways are specific to those working within NHS Lanarkshire. This episode was recorded in 2026; services, pathways and guidance may change over time.
