Long before NFL players had teams of trainers, nutritionists, therapists, agents, and other specialists, the dynastic Green Bay Packers of the 1960s relied on a different kind of support staff: their wives. In Lambeau Ladies, mother and daughter Laura Kostelnik Biskupic and Katherine Biskupic tell the remarkable, largely untold story of the women who helped to keep the Lombardi-era Packers performing at a championship level. From preparing game-day sandwiches, nursing injuries, and reviewing game film to managing households, hosting social gatherings, and providing emotional strength to their spouses, these women were a driving force behind one of the greatest teams in football history.

What does it mean to be part of the Green Bay Packers family? For the women behind Vince Lombardi’s legendary team, it meant far more than game days, championships, and life in the spotlight. It meant lifelong friendship.

In the final episode of the Lambeau Ladies podcast, we explore the extraordinary bonds formed among the wives of the Green Bay Packers during the Lombardi era — friendships that survived moves, championships, career changes, tragedy, and decades apart.

These women showed up for one another through the hardest moments of life. They raised children together, supported their husbands through the uncertainty of an NFL career, welcomed new Packers families to Green Bay, and became something more than friends: family.

We also revisit the legendary Careful Drive, where Packers families lived, celebrated, raised their children, and built a community during the team's Glory Years.

Their stories reveal another side of Green Bay Packers history — the women who stood behind the players and helped create the community that made the Lombardi-era Packers so special.

Listen to “Friend to the End” and discover the friendships that lasted long after the final whistle.
