  • Not a Goodbye — A Sabbath: An Invitation to a 40-Day Reset
    2026/02/17

Tomorrow begins Lent, and even though I didn’t grow up Catholic, this season has always carried meaning for me. As a little girl I gave up candy and soda… but now I understand it was never really about the thing, it was about making space.

In this episode I’m sharing a personal decision: I’m stepping away from social media and entering a slower, quieter season of presence, healing, and reconnection with God, my family, and myself.

I’m also inviting you into your own 40-day reset, not as punishment, but as intention. Maybe you release scrolling, negative self-talk, or distraction… or maybe you add prayer, gentleness, rest, or care for your soul.

This is a short but heartfelt episode about choosing space over noise and giving yourself permission to pause.

I’ll also be taking a sabbath from the podcast until July while I spend time in reflection, growth, and renewal — and I look forward to returning refreshed with what God places on my heart next.

  • The Softer Way Forward (Without Losing Your Ambition)
    2026/01/28

Mama, this episode is a deep breath.

January on the Ladies After Wisdom podcast was dedicated to mental health for the high-achieving woman and today’s episode is a gentle wrap-up and invitation forward.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve talked about:

    • Anxiety as a signal, not a weakness

    • How trauma and depression can hide behind strength

    • Why so many high-achieving women live in fight-or-flight without realizing it

And here’s the truth I hope you’re carrying with you:
these aren’t separate struggles, they’re all connected through the nervous system.

Your body is always asking one question: Am I safe?
And for many high-achieving women, the answer has been “not really”… for a long time.

In this episode, I reflect on:

    • Why strength can quietly turn into survival

    • How independence became protection

    • What Proverbs 31 really teaches us about support and community

    • Why healing doesn’t mean losing your ambition, it means living differently in the life you already have

This is not a heavy teaching episode.

It’s a moment to slow down, reflect, and choose a softer, more sustainable way forward, without guilt, without quitting your calling, and without carrying everything alone.

We close with prayer, wisdom, and an invitation to continue this work gently and intentionally.

✨ If this episode blesses you, please share it with another woman who needs permission to rest, receive help, and breathe again.

You don’t have to suffer to succeed.
And you don’t have to do this alone.

  • Why You Can’t “Calm Down”: Fight-or-Flight in High-Achieving Women
    2026/01/21

Mama, when was the last time your body truly felt relaxed?

    Not sitting down while scrolling.
Not laying in bed while your mind replays the day.
    I’m talking about real calm.

Because if you’re honest… even when you “rest,” you’re still on—tight shoulders, clenched jaw, and a mind that’s always listening for the next thing to fix.

In today’s episode of Ladies After Wisdom, we’re talking about reducing fight-or-flight and learning how to teach your body that it’s safe again...without guilt.

This is the hope + tools episode of our January Mental Health series, and it builds on last week’s powerful conversation with mental health therapist Nakita Young about trauma and depression in high-achieving women. (If you haven’t listened to that one yet, go back, because today will hit even deeper.)

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • What fight, flight, freeze, and fawn actually are

    • What these responses are responding to (hint: it’s often emotional “threat,” not physical danger)

    • Why high-achieving women live in survival mode without realizing it

    • How chronic stress rewires your nervous system to stay on high alert

    • Practical ways to regulate your body, set boundaries, and rest without guilt

FREE MASTERCLASS: If this episode blessed you, I want to invite you to my free 25-minute masterclass “From Burnt Out to Balanced.” It’s short, powerful, and created with respect for your time, so you can start building real balance and peace without putting anyone else last.

  • When Strength Becomes Survival: Understanding & Healing Trauma in High-Achieving Women
    2026/01/13

If you’re a high-achieving woman who’s still showing up, still performing, and still getting things done, but something inside feels heavy or off, this episode is for you.

In this deeply honest and compassionate conversation on Ladies After Wisdom, I sit down with my sister, Naketa Young, a licensed mental health therapist who specializes in trauma, to talk about how undiagnosed and untreated trauma shows up in high-achieving women, often quietly, and often unnoticed.

We explore why so many strong, capable women downplay their own trauma, how trauma isn’t defined by the event but by its impact on the nervous system, and why depression in high-achieving women doesn’t always look like sadness, it often looks like exhaustion, overworking, numbness, and living in survival mode.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • What trauma actually is (and why you may not have recognized yours)

    • Why strength and success can hide suffering

    • How trauma and depression show up differently in high-achieving women

    • How to tell the difference between stress, anxiety, and something deeper

    • What healing really looks like—without falling apart or losing control

This conversation isn’t meant to overwhelm or diagnose you. It’s meant to help you understand yourself with more grace, clarity, and compassion and to remind you that you don’t have to carry everything alone.

  • From Panic to Purpose: Why Strong Women Struggle With Anxiety & How to Overcome
    2026/01/06

Mama, if your mind is always racing and your body never fully rests, this episode is for you.

In this episode of Ladies After Wisdom, we’re talking about anxiety, not the kind that stops you in your tracks, but the kind that hides behind productivity, responsibility, and always being “the strong one.”

If you’re constantly tired, overwhelmed, or feeling like you can’t slow down without guilt, I want you to know something: you’re not lazy, you’re emotionally exhausted.

    In today’s conversation, we’ll unpack:

    • What anxiety actually is and why it shows up so often in high-achieving women

    • The difference between burnout and emotional exhaustion

    • Why independence can become protection—and why asking for help feels unsafe

    • How fear was designed to protect us, but can turn inward and keep us stuck

    • Simple, practical tools to help your nervous system feel safe again

My prayer for you as you listen is that you don’t just feel informed—you feel relieved.

This episode kicks off our January Mental Health Series, where we’ll be diving deeper into anxiety, depression, unresolved trauma, and learning how to reduce fight-or-flight so we can live with more peace.

Grab your coffee, take a deep breath, and let’s move—from panic to purpose—together.

  • From Sacrifice to True Obedience: Why NOW Is The Time For Your To Begin Again
    2025/12/02

Are you using "busyness" as an excuse to ignore your calling?

In this powerful, no-nonsense episode, Coach Q addresses the self-sabotaging behaviors that keep you from pursuing your deepest passions and purposes.

Citing the scripture 1 Samuel 15:22, she challenges the common misconception that sacrifice (constantly prioritizing others' needs over your own divine purpose) is superior to obedience.

Coach Q emphasizes that the desires God places in your heart are meant to be pursued now...not next week, next month, or next year.

Discover why your disobedience is holding someone else's "life raft," and learn how to move past fear and start the book, the business, or the healthy lifestyle you were meant to have. It is time to reflect, stop making excuses, and begin again, right now.
