Kewan Lacy, Ole Miss’ explosive running back, is back on the field after a thigh bruise sidelined him early this season — and he’s ready to torch LSU in their heated Magnolia Bowl showdown. The game carries extra weight: it’s against his former coach, Lane Kiffin, now leading the Tigers. But Lacy says he doesn’t care — he chose loyalty to Ole Miss over chasing a new coach, thanks to a pivotal conversation with new head coach Pete Golding, who had him Google Kiffin’s name to show how quickly fan sentiment shifts. That moment sealed Lacy’s decision — and paid off big: he shattered school records, rushed for 1,500+ yards, scored 24 TDs, earned All-American honors, and nearly won the Doak Walker Award. Meanwhile, Kiffin’s departure from Oxford was rocky — fans were furious, staff and players followed him to LSU, and he took a massive payday. This weekend’s clash isn’t just about stats or trophies — it’s a story of loyalty vs. ambition, legacy vs. change, and two programs locked in a battle that’s bigger than football.
