    I came across 1 Thessalonians 5:14 in my Bible reading recently, and it dawned on me that – although this verse is something all believers should be doing – it provides a particularly apt job description for mothers. Show Notes VERSES CITED: 1 Thessalonians 5:14 - “We urge you [to] admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.” Proverbs 29:15 - “The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.” Ephesians 4:29 - “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Colossians 4:6 - “Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 - “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Peter 3:15 - “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.
