    2025/05/15

Since wrapping up the league two weeks ago, the Champions have collected a solitary point from their two subsequent fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal.

And it’s been a mixed performance off the pitch too. While Drew was hugely impressed by the support of the travelling Reds contingent at Stamford Bridge, the negative reaction to Trent Alexander Arnold in the week he announced his departure wasn’t a great look.

And even if some have been unable to move on from Trent, it seems like the club already have, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong lined up to replace the Madrid-bound man.

  • "We're gonna win the...." Liverpool go 11 points clear with victory at the Etihad; reflecting on Mo Salah's Ballon d'or claims
    2025/02/25

Drew reflects on a seemingly decisive weekend in the race for the Premier League title, that left Arsenal 11 points adrift of Liverpool with a game in hand. After the injury-hit Gooners went down 0-1 at home to struggling West Ham, the Merseysiders stretched their lead at the top of the table with a 2-0 win at the home of champions Manchester City the following day. Goals from Dominik Szoboslai and Mohammed Salah nudged Arne' Slot's side closer to the holy grail and now the fans are singing: “We’re gonna win the league!”

Drew also finds time to eulogise over Mohammed Salah, before sharing his thoughts on the tense exchange between Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards on Sky Sports regarding the Egyptian King’s Ballon d’or credentials.

So where does this leave the “title race” in November and who are the actual runners at this early stage? Plus in the week David Coote hits the headlines for all the wrong reasons we wonder what’s next for the troubled referee.
