  • Discerning God’s Will with Karl Vater & Discovering your Giftedness with Bill Hendricks
    2026/02/02

Today, on Karl and Crew, we kicked off our weekly theme of “What is God’s Will for My Life?” with a discussion with Karl Vater, who joined us to talk about discerning and responding to God’s sovereign will and his moral will. Karl has served in small-church ministry for over 40 years. He is the author of several books, including “The Church Recovery Guide”. He also hosts a biweekly podcast called The Church Lobby: Conversations on Faith & Ministry. Then we had Abdu Murray join us to share his story as he went from a committed muslim to a faith-filled follower of Christ. Abdu is a speaker, author, and attorney who specializes in addressing issues where religious faith and emerging cultural trends intersect and collide. He is also the President of Embrace the Truth. Then we had Bill Hendricks join us to discuss how our giftedness factors into God’s will for our lives. Bill is the President of The Giftedness Center, which grew out of a consulting practice he founded in 1985. He has been helping people make critical life and career decisions based on giftedness. He has also authored several books, including “The Person Called YOU: Why You’re Here, Why You Matter & What You Should Do With Your Life.” We then had Karl pop in LIVE to give us an update from Marafa, Kenya, as he is assisting in ministry with The Timothy Initiative. • Our Identity in Christ with Philip Miller & Defining Truth with Dr. Andy Bannister
    2026/01/29

Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of “Who Am I” with discussions about having our identity rooted in Christ. When our identity aligns with Christ, it helps us answer the question “Am I enough?” And because of Jesus’s sacrifice, we know the answer is yes. Then we had Philip Miller join us to discuss further how to find our identity in Christ rather than in the world. Philip is the Senior Pastor of Moody Church in Chicago. He can also be heard on the weekly Moody Church Hour radio broadcast on over 700 stations nationwide. You can also listen to Pastor Philip on the daily program, Living Hope, at 11 am CT, across the Moody Network. Then, we had Dr. Andy Bannister join us to discuss how to share the truth with someone in a loving and gentle way when there are opposing ideas. Dr. Bannister is the Director of Solas, and he speaks and teaches regularly throughout the UK, Europe, Canada, the USA, and the wider world. He addresses audiences of both Christians and those of all faiths, or none, on issues relating to faith, culture, politics, and society. He also hosts 2 podcasts called PEP Talk and Pod of the Gaps. He also wrote several books, including “Have you Ever Wondred? Finding the Everyday Clue to Meaning, Purpose, and Spirituality”.
