Twenty-five years after September 11, 2001, we remember.

In this special edition of The Korcek Connection, I sit down separately with each of my three kids - ages 16, 12, and 10 - and ask them the same three questions:

What is September 11th?

What does it mean to you?

And what should it mean to future generations?

None of them were alive that day. They know September 11th through history, through the stories we've told them, and through a world that was forever changed before they were born. I wanted to hear those answers in their own words, without coaching them or having them compare answers with each other.

Jen and I also share our own memories of that day, reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who answered the call, and close with prayer and a reminder of where our hope ultimately comes from.

We say “Never Forget.”

But as the generation that remembers September 11th firsthand grows older, it's up to us to make sure the next generation understands not only what happened - but why remembering still matters.

May we remember those we lost, honor those who served, teach those who came after us, and continue to put our faith and hope in Jesus Christ.
