Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.
Every athlete deserves more than a name on the roster and a stream of corrections. In this coach’s-clinic episode, Coach Taylor turns relationship-building into a practical system that can work across a full team. The episode introduces the four-part STT check-in: person, role, development, and support. Coaches learn how to map contact, use short practice windows, ask better questions, summarize what they hear, clarify roles, include injured athletes and non-starters, and close promised follow-ups. Players receive a simple way to prepare for development conversations. Parents learn how to support athlete advocacy without replacing the athlete’s voice. The episode also protects important boundaries: coaches are not therapists, check-ins do not guarantee playing time or performance, and serious concerns require appropriate safeguarding and qualified support. The central standard is simple: know the person enough to coach the player, and coach the player without losing the person.
