Reality Check My Life | Kitchen Sink Moment | E8: The Rooms We Stop Entering-What Happens When Survival Finally Attaches Itself to a Place

For a year and a half, there was a part of my own house I couldn't make myself enter.

I knew how to open the door. I knew there was nothing physically stopping me. I loved the house.

My body had another opinion.

Then Argo needed me—and suddenly something mattered more than the dread. I walked through the door.

What I found on the other side became an excavation into the difference between capability and capacity, the invisible cost of functioning while overwhelmed, the things we defer when something has to give, and the guilt that can turn deferred maintenance into evidence against ourselves.

Because maybe functioning doesn't always mean we're okay.

Maybe being capable of carrying something doesn't mean carrying it was ever sustainable.

And maybe reclamation isn't proving we can do everything again.

Maybe it's learning:

I don't have to.

This isn't really an episode about cleaning a house.

It's about the rooms—literal and otherwise—we stop entering when survival consumes everything we have available.

And what it might mean to finally come home without abandoning ourselves to get there.
