このコンテンツについて

Kirby Conversations is a biweekly podcast on Nintendo's famous video game character Kirby, presented by writer and podcaster Sean Douglass, Kirby collector and artist Bridget, Nintendo Affiliate and photographer Ky "Captain Dangerous" Parker, and WiKirby Editor-in-Chief Gigi. Together they explore more than 30 years of Kirby games, history, and culture, along with adjacent subjects like Super Smash Bros., Kirby's developer HAL Laboratory, and other related Nintendo games.

Whether you're a casual Nintendo fan or an avid player of Kirby games, we hope Kirby Conversations can be a fun, funny, and even educational show on the impact this popular Japanese character is having on the video game industry and world at large.

  • Roll Claying Game: Rainbow Curse and the Wii U in 2025 (with Nic McConnell)
    2025/10/08
With innovative controls, a unique claymation aesthetic, an outstanding soundtrack, and a surprising mix of charm and challenge, 2015's Kirby and the Rainbow Curse still offers so much to enjoy ten years later. So why is it one of Kirby's most polarizing games? Canvas Curse fan Nic McConnell returns to Kirby Conversations to discuss the game, which he and Sean have been playing for the first time. And Gigi, already familiar with the game, is here to offer her takes as well. They also reflect on the general experience of playing the Wii U again in 2025, look up director Kazushige Masuda on Facebook, and consider the game's unusual connections with...Donkey Kong Bananza? • Springing into Star-Crossed World—With Spoiler and Spoiler-Free Segments
    2025/09/03

In this episode, Sean and Gigi are unpacking the brand new Star-Crossed World content from the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. They discuss the many things that stood out to them, like the graphics, complex levels, and amazing new soundtrack, while also considering how nice (and surprising) it is to return to Forgotten Land three years later. At the same time, both have some ideas for how the structure and level design of Forgotten Land could be adjusted for future 3D Kirby outings. This episode is mostly spoiler free, but at 1:05:52 they do shift to discussing spoilers. This shift is stated in the episode, but if you want to avoid any discussion of secrets or later game events, just be advised that the spoiler wall comes about an hour in.
