We want to emphasize that this is a continuous, lifelong journey of becoming more like him. 2 Peter 3:18 says we are to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Eph 4:15 says grow to become mature.

For those who might have missed the first installment in this series, we are discussing 6 layers of what it means to be in Christ. Last week we discussed Being “in Christ” means your identity is no longer defined primarily by your past, failures, or status, but by your relationship with Him. Christians believe you become a “new creation”—your life is reset (reboot) at a spiritual level. The word in means origin (the point where it all begins; then what happens after that). It also means set at one again (one mind).
