Who Is In Charge!

Season 1: Episode 1

1 King 1

This is a reminder that if we are in charge, we have a responsibility to also walk in the position we are called to. If we are a parent, we need to be a parent. If we are a boss, then we need to be the leader in charge. We often fail to set boundaries when we are in a leadership role. We should be the king if we are king. We should not carry a title and let someone else actually be in charge. Leaders prepare for when they cannot be present by training others who can carry on in their absence. Leaders must watch, vette, and listen so it will be evident who the people are under them. In other words, know those that labor among you.

Mercy For Mercy!

Season 10: Episode 10 --Season Finale

2 Samuel 22-24

This is a reminder that God gives mercy to those who give mercy. The way God judges is very different from how we judge or see things. We need God's perspective to see things his way. His way, his perfect way, is us being obedient to God. I heard a friend say Grace is not a substitute for obedience. Davis was righteous with clean hands in God's sight even though he may not have been in man's eyesight. Our righteousness is determined by God, not man. When God forgives, he throws it in the sea of forgetfulness.

Season 10: Episode 9

2 Samuel 19-21

This is a reminder that our enemy does not always look like an enemy. Sometimes, our enemy comes with a smile and kiss. This kiss can be the kiss of death if we are not careful. The greater our position or calling, the more people will be envious or jealous. This puts us in danger at times. We often judge things based on our own perspective. The problem with this is that the other person may have a totally different perspective so we need God's wisdom to let us know through prayer or revelation or just waiting to sometimes even know who our enemy is.

Season 10: Episode 8

This is a reminder that we live in an i

upside down world. We call truth a lie and we call a lie truth. Christians buy into the latest fads, and world mindsets. We call the same things a blessing that the world calls a blessing. The problem is that God doesn't call the same things blessings. As Christians, we should look to the Word of God as our litmus test, not popular opinion or what we think is right.

Season 10: Episode 7

2 Samuel 14

This is a reminder that our reactions really do matter when someone asks our opinion about something just to get us to see ourselves in a simlar situation. This is the second time that David is confronted with this type of scenario in the Bible. This time it is a handmaiden sent by Joab to get David to connect the dots. David sees how he would judge the scenario is how he should judge his own situation with his son. It is clear why God called David a man after his own heart. David was quick to admit his wrong, and repent. He chose to make things rights instead of making excuses, blaming others, becoming defensive or accusatory. David was willing even to own his own wrong. I think I want to be like David when I grow up spiritually.

When My Mess Meets Me!

Season 10: Episode 6

2 Samuel 13

This is a reminder that the things we do to people will come back on us: whether it is consequences or death. It will eventually find itself back to us. Amnon raped his own sister, and then despised her afterward, as if she had done something bad to him. She was broken, and her other brother, Absalom, asked her if Amnon had forced himself on her. King David heard about it and was very upset, but he did not do anything to his son. A few years later, Absalom killed Amnon for what he had done to his sister. When we do what we know to be wrong, it gets easier every time. Eventually we will see it as the other person being wrong. We really should own up to what we have done and stop manipulating others or blaming others, making ourselves a victim. Truth is the real answer, and forgiveness is waiting?

The Cover-Up

Season 10: Episode 5

2 Samuel 11-12

This is a reminder that God sees everything we do and says. We cannot hide anything from God. The cover-up is us trying to save face with man because God knows and sees it all. King David committed adultery, got Uriah's wife pregnant, tried to cover it up by getting Uriah to lay with his wife during wartime, and then, set Uriah up for death when Uriah was too honorable to sleep with his wife. David ultimately paid for doing this with the life of his unborn child. God spared his life, but the consequences of what he did would certainly follow him in life. We are not to do wrong when we know it is a sin.

No Vacancy!

Season 10: Episode 4

2 Samuel 10

This is a reminder not to give people space in your head. When we do, we take on their baggage, their unbelief, their lack of faith. Hannun missed out on favor David offered to him because he listened to the princes of Ammon telling him that David did not have good intentions and that David was trying to deceive him. They were wrong and would ultimately cause the people of Ammon to be in servitude to the Israelites, and many people losing their life. That kind of favor actually comes from God. Don't let people speaking out of envy, or the flesh, mess up what God is handing to you. Tell people that there is no vacancy in your head.
