🐾 A NEW WILD CAT FROM BOLIVIA
Scientists have identified Leopardus tilcayo, a small spotted wild cat from Bolivia's Yungas cloud forest. It is the first new living feline species formally described by science in more than a century. Researchers used genetic evidence to distinguish it from other tiger cats.

🔥 THE FIRE AMOEBA
Scientists discovered Incendiamoeba cascadensis living in the hot springs of Lassen Volcanic National Park in California. In laboratory tests, it could divide at about 63°C and recover after exposure to about 70°C.

🪲 TWO NEW STICK INSECTS
Scientists have described two new Australian stick-insect species, Anchiale robusta and Anchiale mabiensis, from Queensland. Their discovery adds to scientists' understanding of Australia's remarkable insect diversity.

⚒️ 2,200-YEAR-OLD IRON TREASURE
Researchers studied at least 500 ancient iron bars found at Deinham near the Danube in Upper Austria. The La Tène-period find weighs around one tonne and provides clues about prehistoric iron production and trade.

🗺️ THE MAP MASTER KID
Meet Sidharth Narendran from Ernakulam, Kerala. At age six, he identified and recalled all 195 UN-recognised countries from individual outline maps in just 4 minutes and 25 seconds. His achievement was confirmed on August 18, 2026, by India Book of Records.
