He tells all about his time with the incredibly low lofted beast, and why it could work for more golfers than you think. Since his dalliance with the long driver head, Joe's been busy measuring driver heads in his garage (what a cool bloke), and he's uncovered some shocking results of the actual driver lofts versus what is stated on the loft sleeve. Should we just get rid of driver stated lofts if (spoiler alert) some of the actual lofts are so far off? Happy Friday, folks! Hope you enjoyed last week's Ryder Cup action. We're back this week with a jam-packed episode and something of a putter special. Firstly, Joe's been doing some more digging in the bags of Ryder Cup players, and has been wondering: is the blade (Anser-style) putter dying out completely? After that, we take a look at one of the hottest pieces of equipment doing the rounds on social media right now, the Sausage Golf Boudin Noir putter. Amusing though the name may be (perfect for our innuendo-laden podcast), this putter has rightly generated a lot of excitement online thanks to its modular construction. It's a perfect club for the tinkerers out there, and while we haven't had our hands on it yet, we've got all the details about this exciting release.

With putters on the mind, Joe wants to know what you think is the best putter model of all time. He nominates what he thinks are the Big Three, but we'll leave it up to you to decide which is truly the GOAT. These golf brands - like Takomo, Ben Hogan, New Level and Tour Edge - are becoming increasingly more popular and prevalent, but what are they and how do they differ from the original equipment manufacturers like Callaway and TaylorMade? Is the gap between these brands and the OEMs closing? Which categories, if any, do these brands still struggle to compete in? Joe picks his favourite brands for each equipment sub cateogry to let you know which brands to target in certain areas of the bag, and which to avoid.

We then welcome two-time U.S Open winner and fellow equipment nerd Retief Goosen onto the show. Our co-host Sam De'Ath met up with Retief at this year's Senior Open to talk all things equipment about a man who still builds his own clubs to this day - one of us!!
