Kevin Owens appeared to suffer a knee injury during a WWE live event on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center in North Charleston, South Carolina. Footage captured by sports journalist Kevin Bilodeau and posted to X showed Owens being helped toward the backstage area while noticeably limping and unable to put weight on the leg. Bilodeau wrote that Owens had to be helped to the back after suffering an apparent knee injury at the Charleston show. Event reports indicate Owens appeared to hurt the knee early in his match against The Miz, worked through it and finished the match with a Stunner before being assisted backstage. WWE has issued no statement, and the severity of the injury is unknown at this time. The timing is significant because Owens only returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2026 after roughly seventeen months on the shelf with a neck injury that required surgery in July 2025, and he immediately re-entered the main event picture by winning a match over GUNTHER, Sami Zayn and Finn Bálor to become No. 1 contender to CM Punk's Undisputed WWE Championship. This video covers exactly what is known, exactly what is not, and where Owens sits in WWE's current title picture.
