The 2025 football season will be the most thorough rebuilding year the New Orleans Saints have undergone in recent memory. Kellen Moore takes control of a team that is in the process of aging down and building around core pieces that will need to become future faces of the franchise. The season will most likely act as an audition for many players who look to fully submit themselves as top young talents in the league. However, with opportunity also comes the potential for great struggle and if the team does not rally together one of the worst performances in franchise history could become reality for first season head coach Kellen Moore.

Week two of the preseason brings the Saints home to face last year's Hesiman Trophy Winner Travis Hunter and the rest of a new look Jags offense. The match up puts two first year head coaches in the spotlight as the Saints look to find out more as position battles continue in all three phases of the game.

The start to the 2025 preseason was a reflection of the new changes made to this team while still facing the core causes of past struggles. Spencer Rattler would find some success in his opportunity to get the 1st start at QB. However, a lack of scoring would lead to mixed emotions from Saints fans. Tyler Shough put up the most points in his outing but as the Saints twos and three's came out of defense the floodgates for points was too much for the boys in black and gold. Now with a match up against another young team facing them the Saints will look to get a win in the Dome and find out more as injuries and position battles set the tone going into preseason week 2.
