Keep Going Anyway | Drive Time with Matt
Have you ever worked hard, given your best, and hoped somebody would notice… only to be met with silence?
In this episode of Drive Time with Matt, I’m reflecting on my own career journey, the desire to learn, grow, and hear those words we all appreciate: “Good job! You’re doing great!” But what happens when the harder you work, the quieter it gets?
We’ll talk about the danger of chasing external validation, the importance of recognizing how far we’ve come, and why our worth can’t depend on somebody else’s applause. We’ll also explore what the Bible teaches us about working wholeheartedly for the Lord, persevering when we grow weary, and staying faithful even when nobody seems to notice.
And if you’re a leader, there’s a challenge for you, too: the power of recognizing the people around you who are working hard, often without a word of encouragement.
Because there’s a difference between being proud of yourself and thinking you’re better than everybody else. Sometimes, it simply means acknowledging the growth, perseverance, and faithfulness that brought you this far.
You don’t need applause to be faithful. You don’t need recognition to have value. And you don’t have to quit just because nobody is clapping.
Keep taking those small steps. Keep doing the next right thing. And be grateful to God for every mile of the journey.
🎧 Join me for another honest conversation about faith, life, work, and the lessons we learn along the way.
