3 Seasons in and it's time to end the show.  It's bittersweet but the only way to end it is to get drunk and who better to get drunk with than Crysta Brown who has been on multiple episodes and put up with my crazy antics.

Last holiday season I got two advent calendars of mini booze to do for a holiday party but since we are ending the show now time to break them out and get drunk.  One box suggested they be mixed with an apple cider concoction and the other box we did as straight shots.  Y'all we tasted a lot of mini booze bottles and had many a laugh during it.  Sit back with a drink and help us celebrate the end of Kara's Lipstick Diary, well at least for now.

Beginning of the year I started seeing a guy.  He seemed great.  Said all the right things.  Good in bed.  Fun to be around.   When he heard about my sexual assaults he became super protective and wanted to hurt anyone that caused me harm.  He was so proud of never sexually assaulting a woman or being physically abusive.  He had two daughters and seemed like a great dad.  I was a little concerned that he had two ex wife's but things don't always work out.  

Then a month and a half into really seeing each other regularly he told me something terrible he did to me.  He told me via text message and then proceeded to call me "a fucking bitch" and blame me for it twice even though the facts were clear it wasn't something I did.  He slut shamed me and just became extreme abusive in what he was saying to me.  Over the next week or so I told him repeatedly that I couldn't be with someone that handled serious conversations the way he had and that I did not deserve to be disparaged in such a way.  He continued to contact me for several months via text message that were extremely harassing to the point of threatening.  I even consult law enforcement to figure out next steps if it continued.  Luckily he has seemed to have stopped and I didn't have to go down that path.

But it made me think about how often men only think they cause harm to others if it is physical.  This guy was so proud he would never hurt a woman.  But he hurt me.  He terrorized me.  At least 3 different times I asked him to stop contacting me in different ways.  I started watching the show "I am a Stalker" and all those men were the same way.  Saying they never would harm a woman yet that is all they did.  Completely unaware of the effects their actions have on women.  So I asked my dear friend Kristen Kozelsky to join for an episode to discuss this topic.  Sorry Chuck you didn't want an episode about you but well you got one. Hope you watch and never do this to another woman and please don't allow your daughters to think it's okay to be treated like this by a man.


SEASON 3 EPISODE 14 COCKTAIL RECIPE | Strawberry London Lemonade
- 2 oz Empress 1908 Gin
- 2-3 Strawberries
- 3 oz lemonaged

Muddle strawberries and add lemonade and ice.  Then top with Empress 1908 and garnish with a lemon twist.
