We traced his early New Hollywood beginnings through his Dennis Hopper starring Vietnam psychodrama Tracks (1976), through his breakthrough crime caper Sitting Ducks (1980), and finishing up with his sublime personal talkfest Someone to Love (1987), which features the final screen performance of Orson Welles.
