Perhaps today God is asking you to take a step of faith that doesn’t make sense. Maybe He is calling you to forgive when you would rather hold on to bitterness. Perhaps He is asking you to serve where you feel inadequate, to give when you feel you cannot afford it, to witness when you are afraid, or simply to wait when every part of you wants to move ahead. Like Noah, you may not see the storm that God sees. Like Abraham, you may not know where the road will lead. Like the disciples at Calvary, you may not understand why God is allowing certain things to happen in your life. But if history teaches us anything, it is this: God has never failed those who trusted Him.

Many people have different aspects and opinions on who God is to them. The Muslims believe Allah is God, the Hindus believe Brahman or the Infinite is God, the Buddhist don’t believe in any god as they believe in divine beings called devas as there are many gods. They believe that the concept of God originated out of fear. But the Bible clearly points to a Creator of this universe and everything within the universe such as the world He created. All aspects of life from four legged creatures to life in the seas the Bible tells us that God created.

Throughout the book of Amos, we see that God is using Amos as a messenger to call the nation of Israel to awaken to her responsibility and accountability for the national sins that she had committed against God. The Israelites saw all the goodness of God and yet they formed a calf of gold and proclaimed it to be their god. How much are we like the Israelites? How many times in our own lives we have tasted the goodness of God and yet we turned a blind eye and continue to walk in the ways of the world?
