This episode features the Netflix documentary "The Crash." This particular telling of the horrible event receives 4 Hachets out of 5. It shows a particular point of view but it covers the case in a mostly complete way. I do urge you find other resources, News Nation, 48 Hours, Dateline, that show other pieces of information that may not have been available when this documentary was put together.

Welcome to our first episode of "Blunt Force True Crime," under the Just the Tip-Sters umbrella. This is a departure for us where we will review true crime documentaries, tv shows, streaming content, etc. The episode of "Accident, Suicide or Murder," from the Oxygen Network gets 4 Hachets out of Five for their coverage of Dee Dee's case.

In August of 1994, Delores, "Dee Dee" Jackson was enjoying a new relationship after divorcing her high school Sweetheart, Tito Jackson. Don Bohana was twenty years Dee Dee's senior but had a good life and was by all accounts besotted with the beautiful Dee Dee. While they had only been together a few months, Dee Dee kept three bathing suits at Don's home for late night swims in the Jacuzzi or the full sized pool.

Don said that Dee Dee could do an Olympic style turn in the pool. Her family said she was afraid of the water. What actually happened that night that caused a medical examiner change their determination from Undetermined to Homicide?

Elaine McKinley's wife had a simple request for her 81st birthday: a short hike and a picnic with Elaine and a friend. Kit knew it was the perfect time of year to see all of the wild flowers in bloom. Its easy to see that Elaine, 79 and her wife Kit were not your average senior citizens. They hiked three days a week and took ballroom dancing classes three times a week.

Elaine had Alzheimers but was a force to be reckoned with. The three women went on the short, not strenuous hike and as usual Elaine raced ahead of Kit and their friend. It was assumed that Elaine went ahead to the picnic site. When Kit and the friend got to the picnic tables there was no Elaine.

Because of her age and cognitive issues search and rescue responded immediately. Drones, dogs, searchers on foot, thermal planes, no source was spared. And yet...Elaine remains missing.
