Things are getting a little wild on Just About Golf this Halloween! 🎃🐻🦖

Welcome to our first Tap-In, a new series where Matthias Farley and producer Jake Bigelow sit down, catch up, and talk about whatever comes to mind.

And what better way to kick things off than with Jake dressed as a bear and Matthias dressed as a dinosaur?

With Halloween right around the corner, the two share childhood memories, favorite costumes, and what it's like experiencing the holiday through their kids.

But the conversation doesn't stop there.

Jake and Matthias share the story of how they met through their kids and how a conversation at a birthday party eventually turned into the podcast you're listening to today. They also get into life behind the scenes of professional football and film production, the friendships that come from shared experiences, and why golf has a way of bringing people together.

It's a little Halloween, a little golf, a lot of laughs, and a chance to get to know the guys behind Just About Golf a little better.

No guest. No agenda. Just a bear and a dinosaur catching up.

Happy Halloween from Just About Golf! 🎃⛳️

This week, we're switching things up on Just About Golf.

Matthias Farley welcomes his good friend Mitch Sayers for a conversation that's a little less about golf and a lot more about wine.

Mitch shares how his passion for wine began with his family’s Italian roots, grew through his experiences traveling abroad, and eventually led him into the world of wine education, collecting, and becoming a sommelier.

Along the way, Matthias gets a firsthand education as Mitch brings several bottles to taste, breaks down different regions and varieties, and explains what makes certain wines so special. From expensive bottles and blind tastings to discovering Matthias has a surprisingly expensive palate, there's plenty of learning and plenty of laughs.

But the conversation goes beyond what's in the glass.

Matthias and Mitch explore the surprising similarities between golf and wine—how both bring people together, create lasting friendships, and turn shared experiences into unforgettable memories.

Whether you're a wine enthusiast, a golfer, or just someone who enjoys a great conversation, this episode is a reminder that the best part of any passion is often the people you share it with.

Jake's tasting notes from behind the scenes:

• J.B. Becker Riesling: Not overly sweet, with a bright, fruit-forward flavor.

• Cabot Syrah: A sharp introduction that quickly gives way to an incredibly smooth mouthfeel. My personal favorite of the tasting.

• Lisini Brunello: A deep, lingering sensation in the chest with a rich, complex flavor.
