The Rope Between Us

Let me ask you something before we start. Have you ever wondered if you could mess things up so badly that God would finally let you go? Honestly, most of us have wondered that at some point. Maybe it was after a failure you couldn't take back. Maybe it was in a season of doubt that lasted longer than you wanted to admit. You know what? That question — will God let go of me — is one of the oldest fears in the human heart, and today we're going to answer it straight from Scripture.

We're studying Romans 8:38-39, two verses that have been called the grandest sentence Paul ever wrote. In them, the apostle makes an enormous claim. He says nothing — not death, not life, not angels, not the future, not anything in this created world — can separate a believer from the love of God in Christ Jesus. That's not a wish. That's not wishful thinking. Paul says he's convinced.
