  • People Rise and Fall to Your Expectations
    2026/09/03

Today on Joyful Leader, we’re talking about a truism you’ve likely heard: people rise and fall to your expectations of them. If you lead, you know. A HUGE part of how you set people up for success is by first intentionally aligning your expectations. And you’ve probably seen this play out in real time — people feel it when you believe in them. And when you don’t. In this episode, we’re going to break this idea down a bit, and talk about areas of our work where this is unexpectedly at play. And how you can elevate expectations to elevate the work being done on your team and in your company.

    Thanks for listening.

  • How to Look at Your Strengths (+ Weaknesses)
    2026/08/20

I work with growth-oriented people. People who are always moving forward, making an effort to be better today than yesterday.

And in the process of growing, we can find ourselves in a hurry to distance ourselves from the parts of us we don’t like. Or no longer find useful.

And in doing that, we distance ourselves from ourselves, judging habits and thought patterns that we developed for very good reasons.

So on today’s podcast, we’re going to talk about another way to look at strengths. One that doesn’t involve judging, denying, or avoiding any part of us.

    Tune in.

    Thanks for listening.

  • How to Be More Effective
    2026/08/06

Most leaders (YOU) want to be effective, use their time wisely, and prioritize the right things.

There are two questions, asked in tandem, that can be game-changers to find ways to bring even more effectiveness to your leadership game.

How much of it do you spend reacting and responding? And how much of it do you spend preventing, investing, and building?

On today’s podcast, we’re talking all about effectiveness. I’ll break down the questions above, and we’ll talk about how to prioritize things that have a big payoff for you and for your team.

    Thanks for listening.
