Jerry Jones is brutally honest after the Cowboys’ shocking loss to the Giants, admitting the team’s performance fell far short of expectations and giving the Giants more credit than anticipated. Despite major defensive changes this offseason, Dallas struggled mightily in their opener — surrendering big yards, poor execution, and communication breakdowns that echoed last year’s woes. The Giants’ QB shined with over 200 yards and three TDs, while Dallas’ Dak Prescott had a decent game but was undone by a costly interception that shifted momentum. With only two second-half possessions and no time to breathe, the Cowboys couldn’t keep up as the Giants answered every drive. Jones, who once called this matchup “a tingle,” now sees frustration — but he’s not changing course, insisting the defense’s scheme is sound, just poorly executed. Facing another struggling team in Washington, the Cowboys have a chance to bounce back — and avoid starting 0-2 in the division. Jones reminded everyone that even Super Bowl teams started 0-1, citing his own 1993 championship squad — but the message is clear: fix it fast or risk falling further behind.
