Today’s reading takes us to John 19, where the One who is life willingly walks into death. The King is rejected, the Lamb is crucified, the work is finished, and the witness is confirmed. Even the curse itself is placed on Christ as the thorns produced by sin are pressed onto the head of the King.
John 19 reminds us what life actually cost. Jesus did not say, “I am finished.” He said, “It is finished.” The work was complete. The Scriptures were fulfilled. The sacrifice was sufficient. Death did not take Him—He gave up His life willingly. So today, read John 19 and remember: sin rejects God’s rule, but Christ bore the curse, completed the work, and paid the full price so that dead sinners could receive life.
