Imagine, Jesus wakes up one morning feeling hungry and he wanted to eat some figs to satisfy his hunger. You know that feeling; you wake up feeling hungry and a certain food runs across your mind, and even though you have other food available, you only want this specific food. So, Jesus being fully God and fully mankind, had the same hunger patterns and this particular day he only wanted figs. So, off he goes, not to the market, but directly to the fig tree and low and behold, there are no figs on it. This situation of Jesus' encounter with the fig tree that had no figs is a perfect example of how to get into Jesus' mind set to understand how it worked.
