What happens when you believe the right gospel but your life starts communicating something completely different? In Galatians 2:11–14, Paul confronts Peter—not because Peter had abandoned the gospel in his theology, but because his actions were beginning to preach a different message. His prejudice, people-pleasing, and law-keeping were shaping the culture around him, and the people following him were learning from what he did more than what he said.

This passage forces us to ask a deeper question about Christian leadership, legalism, prejudice, and the gospel of Jesus: Does what we believe actually move the way we live? Sometimes legalism isn't the result of knowing too much, but of knowing just enough to misunderstand God's Word. And when our hands don't follow what our heads say we believe, people can end up seeing a distorted picture of Jesus. What does it really mean that Jesus fulfilled the law?
